January 2013 Newsletter

2013 President Carol Stearns

Welcome to the first issue of the new Silver Threads Quilt Guild newsletter and blog for 2013. We have a great year ahead, and I’ve got a wonderful advisory board of talented quilters to work with! Our program for January 10, 2013 will have 3 items to address:

  1. We would like to update our membership information; so, as you write out your check for $12 to Marie Robert for 2013, please fill out the membership form (Membership and Application form) in its entirety so we will have up-to-date information.
  2. We will be discussing the by-laws (Silver Threads Bylaws Version 7JAN2013) and request any suggested changes be put in writing. Past President Vickie will be conducting the meeting as I will be on vacation at Walt Disney World.
  3. June Scroggin, our newsletter chair and blogger, will be presenting the program about our new blog and how to navigate and use it! The board members were so excited at her presentation this week, and I know you will love it, too!

I am looking forward to a fun and quilt-filled year and can’t wait to share it with you!

2013 Vice President Carolyn Urquhart

I am looking forward to serving you as Vice President this coming year.  We are tentatively planning projects for two guild days and our spring workshop will be in April making a bag.  We will let you know as soon as the date is finalized.

2012 Treasurer Chris Maher

In her end-of-year report, Chris itemizes income for the guild in 2012 as $4,003.07. Total expenses were $1,797.06. This leaves a balance of $2,207.01. You can see details of this report here: SILVER THREADS FINANCIAL end of 2012.
