While we’re lucky to live on the Gulf coast and can jump in the Gulf to cool off during the sultry, hot days of July—the best place is inside at our sewing machines.
It’s hard to believe that the year is half over. I’ve had so much fun this year and there is more fun to come!
We have a great educational program this month on July 11 at our regular meeting and on Saturday, July 13, we are having a mid-summer Strip and Sew at the Moose Lodge. Time for that event is 9:00 a.m. to 2:00. There is no charge to attend, but they do offer hamburgers or chicken fingers for lunch for $5 which also includes a drink! The Moose Lodge on Green Acres is a great venue for quilting events! We’ll be sewing a quilt-as-you-go strippy quilt! Come and learn how to do it or bring another charity quilt to work on! At any rate, we will have a lot of fun!
Carolyn has been working on setting up our fall workshop in October for which we’ll provide the details soon. If you have any preferences on what you would like to work on, let us know.
Have you worked on your star blocks? You can find the instructions here!
I have made the cutest quilt out of the tulip blocks that were returned and can hardly wait until July’s meeting for show-and-tell! I have to get busy on the next President’s Challenge. What will it be?
See you soon! Carol
