It’s August already and another great guild meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 8, 2013. I hope everyone has had time to create a pillowcase to bring in. I didn’t realize how addictive the pillowcases are, simply feed the fabric through the machine and, a few seams later, you are done! I love the hot dog version where the seam is enclosed. Don’t forget to bring yours on Thursday!
We had a marvelous time last month on our Sit-and-Sew day at the Moose Lodge. Some 18 ladies came with their machines to sew strippy quilts while a few stopped by to visit. My quilt is done and what a quick way to make one! Please bring the quilt you worked on to the meeting whether you finished it or not! We would love to see them!
The outing scheduled for Ruthie’s notions class this Saturday did not garner the 15 folks required to register our guild for the free sewing machine. You may still attend, but we won’t be there as a guild—maybe next time.
See you soon! Carol

The Fall Workshop will be held at the Moose Lodge on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Cost per member is $15 (non-members $20) which includes lunch and Karin Hellaby’s book Sew Simple Pineapple.
June will be teaching the exploding pineapple technique in the form of a table runner. While a whole quilt top would be a gorgeous way to feature the exploding pineapple design, a table runner helps you learn the technique and gives you a finished project to take home.
