Mystery Quilt: January Instructions

Directions:

You will need 2 light fabrics and 2 dark fabrics. The pattern works well if they light dark fabrics are in the same color family

(example: Light blue and Dark Blue, Light brown and Dark Brown)

Fabric cuts:

1 yard of light fabric #1     Make this fabric your lightest light fabric

1 yard of light fabric #2

1 yard of dark fabric #3

1 yard of dark fabric #4    Make this fabric your darkest dark fabric

***Optional borders:

Inner border

½ yard of light fabric #1

Outer border

1 yard of dark fabric #4

Cutting Instructions:

From fabric #1 cut 2- 7”xwof strips, sub cut into 8 – 7”x7” squares. Label Squares A.

Cut 4- 4”x wof strip, sub cut into 32 – 4”x4” squares. Label Squares E.

Cut the rest of fabric #1 into 2.5” x wof border stripes.

Label Inner Border.

From fabric #2 cut 2- 7”xwof strips, sub cut into 8 – 7”x7” squares. Label Squares B.

Cut 4- 4”x wof strip, sub cut into 32 – 4”x4” squares. Label Squares F.

From fabric #3 cut 2- 7”xwof strips, sub cut into 8 – 7”x7” squares. Label Squares C.

Cut 4- 4”x wof strip, sub cut into 32 – 4”x4” squares.  Label Squares G.

From fabric #4 cut 2- 7”xwof strips, sub cut into 8 – 7”x7” squares. Label Squares D.

Cut 4- 4”x wof strip, sub cut into 32 – 4”x4” squares.  Label Squares H.

Cut the rest of fabric #4 into 5” x wof border stripes.

Label Outer Border
